ABOUT THE PRACTICE

A practice built on discretion, precision, and alignment with our clients’ interests.

Ladd & Co. was founded to provide a different kind of advisory practice — one that operates as a direct extension of the client, not a service provider at arm’s length.

We do not seek visibility. We seek outcomes — for a small number of clients whose interests require a single, trusted point of contact.

The firm was designed from inception to operate quietly, efficiently, and in complete alignment with the families and institutions we serve.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Independence is not a feature of our practice. It is the foundation.

We hold no proprietary investments, manage no pooled capital, and maintain no commercial relationships that could compromise the advice we give. Every recommendation is made solely in the interest of the client.

This independence extends to how we structure engagements. We do not operate on commission, referral fees, or success-based compensation unless explicitly agreed. Our clients pay for counsel and execution — not for the sale of products or the generation of transaction volume.

We believe the highest form of advisory is one where the advisor’s only incentive is the client’s outcome. That belief shapes every aspect of how we operate — from the clients we accept to the professionals we engage.

PRINCIPLES
01

Independence

We hold no proprietary positions and accept no referral fees. Our advice is shaped solely by the client’s interest.

02

Discretion

We do not disclose client identities, engagement terms, or the nature of the matters we handle — to anyone, under any circumstances.

03

Alignment

We structure every engagement so that our incentives mirror the client’s. If the outcome does not serve them, it does not serve us.

04

Precision

We operate with the rigour of a law firm and the pragmatism of a principal. Every detail is examined; every action is deliberate.

05

Continuity

We maintain long-term relationships measured in decades, not transactions. Our understanding of a client’s affairs deepens with every engagement.

06

Accountability

Every engagement is led by a senior member of the firm. There is always a single point of responsibility, visible and accountable to the client.

LEADERSHIP

A small team of senior professionals with direct experience across law, finance, and cross-border structuring.

Our leadership operates at principal level across every engagement. There are no junior associates, no delegated oversight, and no layers of management between the client and the person advising them.

Each member of the firm brings a background in either transactional law, investment banking, or institutional advisory — disciplines that together provide the range necessary to advise families and institutions with complex, multi-jurisdictional interests.

Every engagement is governed by absolute confidentiality — not as a policy, but as a condition of the relationship itself.

We do not disclose client identities, engagement terms, or the nature of the matters we handle. This commitment extends to every member of the firm and every professional we engage on a client’s behalf.

I

Initial Consultation

Every relationship begins with a confidential conversation to understand the client’s circumstances, objectives, and the nature of the matter at hand. We do not proceed until we are certain we can add value.

II

Scope & Structuring

We define the engagement’s scope, assemble the appropriate team of internal and external professionals, and establish clear lines of responsibility, reporting, and confidentiality.

III

Execution & Coordination

We act as the single point of coordination across all advisors, counterparties, and jurisdictions involved. We manage complexity so the client does not have to.

IV

Ongoing Advisory

Many of our client relationships extend well beyond the initial engagement. We remain available as a standing resource for new matters, periodic reviews, and the management of evolving interests.
